Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between SparksBloom and you, the parent or guardian who holds the account. The operator details, including the responsible party, are in the Impressum. By creating an account or using SparksBloom, you agree to these terms.

Only an adult parent or guardian may create an account. Children never hold accounts and never sign in. We sign you in with a magic link sent to your email, so there is no password to create or remember. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure, and for supervising how your child uses the app.

SparksBloom teaches early reading through phonics, decodable readers, and mastery-based progress. A child moves forward as they show they are ready, at a calm and steady pace. The service is delivered on the web.

SparksBloom is freemium. There is a free-forever tier that is genuinely useful on its own. It covers the first phonics stage, a handful of readers, and one child profile. A paid subscription unlocks the full sequence of phonics stages and readers, and lets you add more reader profiles for more children.

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe through its hosted checkout. We offer a monthly plan and a discounted annual plan. The current price is shown in the app at checkout. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from the billing area in your account, which opens the Stripe customer portal. When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

Use SparksBloom for its purpose, which is helping a child learn to read. In particular:

• Do not resell or share access to your account.
• Do not attempt to break, disrupt, or scrape the service.
• Do not misuse the service in ways that harm other people or the service itself.

The readers, art, and narration audio are owned by us or licensed to us. They are provided for your family’s personal use within the app. You may not copy, redistribute, or use them outside SparksBloom.

SparksBloom is an evolving product. We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we may adjust where the free and paid boundaries sit. If a change to paid features is significant, we will give you reasonable notice.

SparksBloom is provided as is, as an educational aid for early reading. To the extent the law allows, we limit our liability for indirect or incidental loss. Nothing in these terms removes the rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including German and EU consumer protections.

If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
